Health & Safety

Safety is Not a Policy,
It’s Our Culture.

We run every site with a zero-harm mindset. Since 1971, our teams have combined clear method statements and inspection/test plans with disciplined supervision and transparent reporting—protecting our people, road users, and communities while keeping programmes on track.
How we manage safety on site
  • Planning & risk control: JHAs, Method Statements, and ITPs approved before work starts.

  • Briefings & permits: Daily toolbox talks, inductions, and permits for high-risk activities.

  • Traffic management: Signed diversions, trained flagmen, barriers, and off-peak/night works where required.

  • PPE & housekeeping: Enforced PPE matrix, safe walkways, lifting controls, tidy, well-lit fronts.

  • Competency & supervision: Licensed operators, refresher training, and close supervisor oversight.

  • Subcontractor control: Pre-qualification, onboarding, and monitoring to our HSE standards.

Compliance, environment & emergency readiness
  • Standards & audits: Aligned with Ghanaian regulations and ISO 45001/14001 principles; regular inspections and close-out of actions.

  • Environmental controls: Dust suppression, spill prevention, spoil/waste management, erosion protection, and effective drainage.

  • Community safety: Clear signage, safe pedestrian access, and coordination with local authorities to minimise disruption.

  • Emergency preparedness & reporting: First-aid, fire and spill kits, drills, incident/near-miss investigation, and corrective actions shared across projects.
